Please vote!!! Click the following link:
There are several categories: best international band, best national (meaning: Brazilian) band, best CD (again, both international and national), best DVD (national and international, always), best artwork, best concert/gig, the discovery of the year (as in novelty, the band/artist that wasn’t known), best singer, guitarist, bassist, drummer, keyboardist, best magazine, best thing that happened and worst thing that happened in 2008. The choice is limited (there’s a list that you can choose from), and once you’re done voting, you have to fill in your name (first name and last, in this order), your email address (twice) and you have to copy and paste the phrase in red to the blank space in that form. Then you’ll receive an email from Whiplash and you have to click on the link to confirm your vote, that’s all.
So far, the most voted best things that happened in 2008 are: big gigs happening in Brazil again, the good return of veterans such as Metallica, AC/DC and Heaven and Hell, the announcement of Wacken Rocks Brazil, Barack Obama being elected president of the US and the Cavalera brothers back together again.
The worst things that happened in 2008, according to the people who have already voted: Richard Wright’s (Pink Floyd) death, international artists cancelling concerts here in Brazil, Wander Taffo’s death (he was a very famous guitarist, guitar teacher and owner of a music school), the end – or momentary break – of the band Angra, the death of Blaze Bayley’s wife, deception with the new Guns ‘N’ Roses album (Chinese Democracy) and also the death of the saxophone player LeRoi Moore (Dave Matthew’s Band).

Obs: I can’t believe André Hernandes, who was Hugo Mariutti’s *AND* Rafael Bittencourt’s guitar teacher, is behind both of them in the results so far!!! arghghghgh
